When using eNegotiate on a workflow, you'll need to create the contract record and select the initial draft agreement before negotiations can begin. The Create Contract with eNegotiate Draft action can be enabled on a phase, prompting the phase owner to manually create a new contract record, then generate a draft based on an eNegotiate template

An email notification can be sent to the owner of that phase. They can click View form to view the card within the workflow.

Within the workflow card, review the metadata submitted by the requester and click Create Contract With Draft.

Next, assign internal and external contract owners.

Finally, select an eNegotiate template then click Create.

Note: To learn more about configuring eNegotiate templates, see Contract Templates.

The contract record is now created, linked to the workflow card, and visible in the repository. The draft document can then progress through negotiations, with internal/external parties submitting new versions or accepting the current terms.

You can verify the generated document by clicking Download and View Merged Fields if you're using handlebars to generate key information throughout the contract.

This displays the data used to generate the contract draft. If the Merged Data column displays No Data Found, the document is not ready for approval or drafting.
